-_-

DNA sequencing
molecular biology
fossils
evolution, understanding it, is essential to identifying and treating diseases, as the article I linked to says.

nonono.
personally, you can have all the sources you want, and science can back you up, but faith backs me up, and that's all that matters in my book.

Re: Creationism vs Evolution
I still think creationism should be kept out of science classes. it's not the heart of biology.
people can believe whatever they want, but I stand firm by the fact that evolution has been proven.
I wish someone can back me up. I suck at debating.

Re: Creationism vs Evolution
Then evolution should be kept out too. It's just some random person's opinion. Who is to say that is the right opinion and it should be taught to a whole school of children???

might as well take biology out, because evolution is a big part of biology

Re: Creationism vs Evolution
not exactly. we're in the final semester, with less than 60 days left of school, and we are just now learning evolution.
although i do see where you are coming from.

Re: Creationism vs Evolution
I'm not saying evolution should be taken out. Im just saying both sides should be taught. No side is better than the other, but they are BOTH just someone's opinion.

Re: Creationism vs Evolution
I agree with Sarah^^^because they tell us we can't talk about religion, because it's conterversol but isn't evolution conterversol too? I mean many people take it in different ways and many people don't agree with it so why should we be able to learn one side, but not the other side?

Re: Creationism vs Evolution
Going back to the comments made on my post above, the reason I think religion is on decline is schools do teach it but we as a nation dont care or belive in it (not everyone) Science is growing everday and every second science grows religion gets just that little bit more faint.
I for one belive that religion should not be taught at school and only creatiosm should be taught in science or if they want to take it as a class, same with religion if they want to take it as a class fine, just dont teach us about it.
No religion in schools would be great as we only focus on like three relgions.

Re: Creationism vs Evolution
I think we should make people aware of religions more, because teaching them one side won't give them any choices, and if we teach them religion as a young child they will be able to choose what they want to and have knowledge of both. Also I think if people are religous enough and don't believe in evolution then they shouldn't have to take it, because we should respect their beliefs.
P.S. We only focus on like one side of evolution

Re: Creationism vs Evolution
You guys are being kinda closed minded.
Did it ever cross any of your minds that maybe they are both true?
Darwin believes that thinks evolved from older species.
Did it ever occur to you that maybe, just maybe, that God created those original species?

you only are saying this cuz we learned it in biology today.
and, it is believe that darwin might have believed this, actually. he was studying to become a minister, before he got into the science. we also learned today that evolution cannot be compared to creationism, because creationism is how we got here in the first place, and evolution is basically everything that happened after that.

um no eric, im saying because that is what i think.
just because we learned it in biology doesnt mean that im saying it for that purpose.

Re: Creationism vs Evolution
I don't see how evolution can be real cause people would be changing like supposedly gorilla's transformed into humans so I believe in creationism

While my religion tells a story of creation. It more tells us that we evolved and evolved. Constant, yet small changes.

Re: Creationism vs Evolution
proof for creation , earths magnetism fading fast , run off over earth no gradual evolution ever seen in fossil records. , many things support creationism , but is never appreciated by the general science committee considered biased or false . sickening.

This is usually, USUALLY NOT ALL THE TIME, because they are ignorant and don't care and will not believe us no matter how much proof there is.

Re: Creationism vs Evolution
Put this way, I don't think creationism should be taught alongside it.
My main reason is, Evolution is more factual based, scientific evidence/theory. Where as creationism is more from a religious point of view which we have so many religions I would feel people would be less insulted if it was just keep to the scientific point of view. Religion tends to cause arguments, where as while science does cause arguments, it tends to be brought more into fact, therefore evidence and not a belief.
