The plus and minus sign on the side of the words are there for rep. There is also a "merci" button. Use that too!

you cant see rep on your own posts. Look at others posts, on the right hand side there is a + and - sign.

That is because to be able to rep, I believe you have to have it's either 500 or 100. That's to make sure people who are like, really new don't come on and neg rep everyone.
