It’s taken me a while
But it finally happens
I’m moving on
I don’t wake up in the morning
Crying because I know a have to face another day with you
Because it’s just another day you have to face without me
I don’t think about how lucky the next girl you have is going to be
Because she didn’t have you
When you were young and innocent
I don’t speed up in the hallways so I can walk by you
Just to be that much closer to you
Because now, I hold my head high, and keep my pace
Never giving you a first glance let alone a second
My world doesn’t revolve around impressing you now
It doesn’t involve thinking of ways to talk to you
Even if it’s for just a second
In my world I have grown, and changed, and have learned from mistakes
I will love, and I will hate
I will laugh, and I will cry, but my tears won’t be for you
