"In the Past". Feedback appreciated.

Reflecting on my past mistakes
I realize there is no turning back
Looking in the past at those mistakes
I could have had it all.....everything.....

V1:
My past is full of failure
Failures I can't bear to see
I've been unable to show the correct behavior
At times when it mattered to me
I always lack common sense
And always at the worst times
I learned that it was at the expense
Of everyone that was mine
I suffer from extreme laziness
I Did,I do, and will forever
Too bad I couldn't move through the haziness
And cut ties that had to be severed
That laziness is a problem now
It always has been and it will be
One day it will become unfathomable
And the one to deal with it is me
My life has its ups and downs
But at least I know what to do
I make my head spin around
When I'm the one on cue
I've made many wrong decisions
And too many have counted
I should have made revisions
To the ones that didn't count
That would have allowed me
To make them count in the right spot
I would've been able to see
What was right and what was not
If only I had made the right choices
While walking though my life
I might have heard those voices
Telling me if I was right

My prior choices weren't always bad
I used my knowledge to be sure
That there could be something to have
By doing right all in a blur
I have always been good in school
It will show in my report card
If I did poorly I was treated like a fool
It always hurt me very hard
I managed to turn that into success
Although my extreme pride hampers things
I avoid making a sloppy mess
When handling delicate situations and things
I was always a good friend to others
Despite being new and awkward
The friends I made were like brothers
I didn't have to suffer without a father
I did well enough without one
It doesn't matter much to me
I managed to have lots of fun
Without a father there for me
I was never great with sports
I just wanted to try
I could've run through an obstacle course
But someone would always pry
Being an only child I got lonely
It was too quiet around the house
I became JP, the one and only
I still am, and I'm quiet like a mouse
Despite the wrongs I have done
I have done some things right
And as long as I'm the one
I'll be sure that I win the fight
